Traffic Officer x2 at Cape Agulhas Municipality Needed

Traffic police officers needed in Bredasdorp, Cape Agulhas municipality. Traffic police officers will patrol and monitor the streets, as well as enforce traffic control and traffic law enforcement.

 


Requirements:
12th Class Certificate
National Diploma in Traffic Officers
2-5 years of relevant experience
Valid driver’s license with code EB
Firearms Proficiency

Function
Supervising and exercising control over the duties, activities and discipline of immediate subordinates
Evaluating the performance of the direct report and providing guidance and advice regarding their responsibilities
Ensuring patrolling and monitoring of streets, e.g. neglect of traffic signs, illegal parking, etc.
Traffic management and traffic law enforcement
Fulfillment of obligations under the National Land Transport Act (NLTA)
Record Road Accidents (RTCs) and register them with SAPS to obtain AR-NOs for reference purposes
Enforcement of municipal law
Execution Warrants of Arrest (WoA) and prepare a statement
Provide an emergency support function during a disaster or emergency
Complete specific reports, statutory documentation and registers
See vehicle seizure
Present road safety awareness and education programs
Ensure that inconvenience and/or safety risks are minimized by effectively dealing with traffic congestion/bottlenecks
Do specialized traffic police

Recommendation
Proof of registration from the Department of Transport and Public Works as a transport officer
Candidate must present a valid clearance certificate not older than 6 months on the day of interview, otherwise you will be automatically disqualified
Be able to act consistently and firmly
Must be trustworthy with a high level of integrity along with the ability to handle conflict, stress and work under pressure
Good communication skills in at least 2 of the 3 official languages ​​in the Western Cape namely English, Afrikaans and Xhosa
A valid driving license prescribed in terms of § 10 of the Arms Control Act, Act 60/2000
Valid driving license B, A and EC
