Application deadlines for the next phase of the teaching assistant initiative
As the third phase of the teaching assistant initiative is about to end, the Department of Primary Education has announced the timeliness of applications for the next phase. Qualified individuals have been invited to submit their applications in accordance with the given dates.
This Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) was created as a means to reduce youth unemployment and reduce the workload of teachers by helping them with day-to-day activities.
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has so far implemented three phases of the PYEI and contracts with youth currently participating in the third phase expire on 31 August 2022.
The ministry invited youth who have never been part of the initiative to apply for the next phase.
However, the department will open a pre-application window from 5 September 2022, which will run for three weeks and allow young people to prepare to gather all the documents and information they will need to apply.
Applications are made through a data-free website, sayouth. mobi, which requires job seeker profiles to be up-to-date.
As part of the eligibility criteria, you must be unemployed and between the ages of 18 and 34.
Maje also emphasized that the department is looking for youths who have not participated in the previous three phases.
The department also said that applicants should look forward to being invited for an interview in late November and the beginning of the first week of December.
